I'm moving and not just back to the states! I'll be moving from my current blog and shop to a brand spankin' NEW ONE! However, I have no idea what to name the new blog/shop so I have a lot of thinking to do. I've gotten so used to using Seoul Sold as my identifier online that having to think of a new name has been difficult.

Anyhow, I am so glad to have met everyone and learned what I have since I started blogging on Seoul Sold. I am so grateful to everyone who reads and stops by my little corner of the internet and I couldn't be happier with my experience as a blogger. I am trying to find a name that I'll never have to change and can really grow into as a blogger, but that is much easier said than done!

If you are blogger what kind of process did you have to go through to find the name that you felt was perfect? I know my current name was pretty much the product of too much coffee and luck, and I am really interested to hear how y'all came up with your current blog names.

Thank you for reading and keep an eye out for my big moving announcement!

  1. what?! just when i find an awesome blogger that's CLOSE to me, you're leaving?! i can't say i'm not deeply disappointed but i can't blame you for wanting to be HOME! as far as names goes, i'm still in love with mine but i couldn't tell you for the life of me how i got to it. luck..luck had a TON to do with it. oh and the name 'i'm moving to korea and have no idea what i'm doing' was just simply too long.

  2. You will think of the perfect name. Good luck on your new adventure. Happy Memorial Day and thank you for serving!!!

  3. Oh gosh, finding the name is always the hardest part. You want to pick something that's easy to pronounce and something that everyone can remember. I feel like after 2 years I'm already craving a new name, ha.
Good luck with the new blog!! :)

  4. i am so happy i met your through this challenge.

moving to America sounds amazing. I am still considering the right name for my own blog domain - I am not sure if I should use my name or the blog title to register. I really hope you fins the right one.

  5. You are right in the same shoes I was in several months ago. After many moves and a very long hiatus, I decided to begin my blog again, all fresh and new. I spent a good while thinking on a name. You not only have to consider a name, but branding as well.

    WHO are you?

    WHY do you blog?

WHAT do you want to portray?

HOW do you get this across to readers?

I thought of a few different names, but none of them really fit when put into construction. Neither did the names really settle well with me. I can't remember how NewlyMynted came to me, but I knew the moment it did, it was exactly what I needed. I was at a place in life where I was more or less reinventing myself, so the title was apt. It also fit into the sleek, simple, magazine style I wanted.

I think everything should fit and flow easily. Like a puzzle. If you have to force a piece in its place, it doesn't become authentic to you.

Hope this helps. Much love and good luck with the move. Travel safely.

    1. Thank you so much for stopping by and the kind words!

I get what you mean about trying to find the perfect name and it really does feel like you have to not only have to brand yourself correctly, but also have to REINVENT yourself.

I can't wait until I have the A-HA moment and hopefully it will come soon because I am getting sick and tired of scribbling things down until my eyes cross. I love your blog so much, btw, and your name is incredibly creative and describes you perfectly. :)
