Day 14: BEDM Challenge Happy Makers

Today's blog post was great and I had a blast putting it together!!! For the BEDM challenge the prompt was sweet, simple, and full of awesome! Here it is:

"Ten things that make you really happy."

The only problem that I had with today's post was NARROWING it down to just 10 things! Here, in no particular order, is my best attempt to share the top 10 things that put a smile on me face.

1. THE SUN

 Soaking the rays up on the deck of a boat while vacationing in Guam. Such a great time!

 

2. Adventure Time

My cartoon obsession I can't help it and I am utterly addicted! MATHEMATICAL! 

3. My Puppy

I LOVE YOU, GIDGET!

4. Taekwondo

 Striking a pose with the Taekwondo crew. Taekwondo has totally changed my life.

5. Friends

Friends make everything so much better and I am thankful for the friendships I have made in life.

 

6. MY HUSBAND/FAMILY

I love my family. Aren't we a good looking bunch?

 

7. Nail Polish

 You can never have too MANY bottles of nail polish OR shades of red in your collection. NEVER.

8. Kimbop

 Kimbop is delicious, nutritious, and cheap! I grab one whenever I can't sit down for a real meal.

9. Working Out

I couldn't find any photos of me getting my sweat on...I'm actually glad because that means I'm not the girl with my phone taking selfies at the gym. Anyhow, this photo is from my first 10k! Beers for free afterwards, yay!

10. Travel

Rich and I adventuring in a cave in Guam. I love him so much and going new places with him is so much fun!

Back in Seoul!!

After a whirlwind vacation home to America, I am back home and I am really happy about it. My husband, and myself Rich, were starting to have Korean food withdrawals and our return to Seoul came at a good time. ;) We had a wonderful time with our family and friends, and were pretty sad to leave them, but we held on to the fact that the sooner we left America the faster we would be able to come home for good!

We are really happy to be back, but jet-lag has started to rear its ugly head which is making being productive difficult. However, we are powering through it and are working on getting back into the swing of things.

I have great updates coming for the blog and the shop!

Also, I have some awesome and extremely exciting news that I can't wait to share!!

Here are a couple of shots from a really fun photo shoot that I was able to do with a friend while back Kansas.

Aren't these lovely? Katie is a great model, photographer, and I absolutely miss having her close by. What a babe!

Wish me luck as I push through the final graduate school applications! I can't wait to be done, breath a sigh of relief, and give the shop/blog some needed attention.

Things I love : SISTAR

I love K-pop....yes, I said it. 

Most of the world is all about PSY's Gangnam Style, and while I think the video is hilarious, there is only so much I can see it, heart it, and watch my student's latest version of the dance and song.

HOWEVER, there is a lot more out there as far as K-Pop is concerned, and even then K-Pop is just scratching the surface of all the amazing Korean music there is here in Seoul! More to come on some amazing Korean funk bands that I had the pleasure of seeing at a nearby underground club. 

Right now, my K-Pop poison of choice is Sistar's "Loving You". I don't know if its the setting in Hawaii, the adorable outfits, or the really catchy hook and chorus that even I have mastered to sing in Hangul, but "Loving You" is what you can find filling my ears at the moment while working on blog, shop, and grad school applications. 

"Loving You" never fails to put me in a happy mood and it is always the perfect song to stave off the Monday blues! I wanted to share this little sunny gem with everyone and I hope it makes everyone's Monday a little happier.

Sistar is an all girl Korean Pop quartet made up of Hyorin, Bora, Soyou and Dasom.  "Loving You" is the group's take off single for 2012, and the group has been around and releasing catchy pop tunes since about 2010.  My favorite is Hyorin! She is rocking the Hello Kitty glasses in this photo and the video.

  I feel so assimilated now, finally a blog post dedicated to K-Pop.

GUAM

A few weeks ago, my husband and I went on an amazing adventure in Guam for our first vacation together since moving to Seoul. We had such a great time that we did not want to come back to Seoul and extended our vacation time by an extra day(so worth it)!

The vacation got off to a great start when we were bumped to the second floor of the 747 and into what I liked to call, mega-first-class. We had an enjoyable time and then Rich checked us into our traveler's club where he found a free Asahi beer vending machine. He was a happy camper during that 7 hour layover.

              We bumped around the airport in Japan and loaded up on beer, food, and trinkets!

When we got to Guam, Rich and I both lost our minds and ran around on the first patch of beach we came across!

After we finally regrouped, Rich and I made a dash for a beach we heard was amazing and had a blast doing some night swimming and diving.

After that first night the trip just snowballed into a nonstop beach party, and here are some shots of the highlights.

My husband and I had the good fortune to have 6 unbelievable days exploring the island, diving, boating, eating everything that crossed our path, swimming, hiking, and sunbathing. We were met with friendly people and beautiful weather and we are urging everyone to consider Guam as a must-see destination.

We are back in Seoul now, and we are very glad to be home, but we sure do miss the beaches, food, and general island feel of Guam. We cannot wait to go back!
